Kitsap County- Big Beef
Big Beef Channel and Floodplain Restoration (15-01)
Status and Schedule
Started on: Jan 01, 1998
Ends on: Jan 01, 2012
Description
This category of projects includes those that improve the physical habitat conditions within the stream channel and the surrounding floodplain. Examples include channel reconfiguration, placement of large woody debris (LWD), levee removal or setbacks, and other practices.

Salmon depend on deep pools, clean gravel, and adequate hiding cover while they are in stream systems. Properly functioning stream and floodplain habitats ensure these needs are met for salmon.
